About Us

Since developing the digest-format for financial newsletters with my mentor, Dick Davis in 1983, I have spent my professional life immersed in the advisory newsletter field, as an editor, columnist, author, speaker and educator. In addition to this new project, my coverage of the newsletter community appears in MSN Money and marketwatch, and daily on AOL Finance & Money.

This site is the latest step in my goal of educating investors about the value of the newsletter community, and helping them find the "best of the best" within the advisory world. As Dick so adamantly taught me from the start of my career, my role as a financial editor was to "separate the wheat from the chaff" and help guide investors toward those advisors who represent the best of original, unbiased, thought-provoking, and quality investment research available.

Having read some 2,000 pages of financial newsletter research each and every week for 23 years, I can assure you that no advisor will always be right. But those included on this site have stood the test of time and proven their value. Also featured are some promising new advisors who I am confident will show continued success. Most of the advisors covered on this site I know personally. All, I respect tremendously. Each is worthy of your attention.

The site is also designed to embrace developing technologies to improve the digest-format and make it easier for investors to learn about the advisory world and access the leading advisors - a goal I have pursued throughout my career.

Beginning In the mid 1990s, I launched the first online financial newsletter and built the initial web presence for over 100 other newsletters. I also created the first online clearinghouse for the sale of financial newsletters, the first real time advisor chat room, and by 1997 and 1998, offered the first online audio and video broadcasts of advisors' speeches.

With greatly enhanced blog technology, my hope is that this site will continue those efforts, making it easier and more convenient for individual investors to learn about the newsletter community, share a glimpse into their latest market commentary and stock ideas, and directly access those advisors should they wish more information about their services.

Finally, I ask all newsletter advisors, publishers, and marketers - as well as investors - to share their input and suggestions to improve this site. Established financial newsletter advisors who are not yet under my coverage but wish to be included on TheStockAdvisors are also encouraged to contact us at . Thank you.
