by Jim Trippon, editor The ETF Profit Report 'Cautiously bullish' is the theme du jour. The bears seem to have little ammunition and sell programs have had scant success in turning positive days negative.
Another bad sign for the bears is that they can’t use weak volume to their advantage, but it is that weak volume that keeps us being too enthusiastic about the recent move higher. We certainly do like the leadership that the tech sector is exerting.

Prime Minister Harper, an unlikely ally, is vigorously defending them against demands for stricter regulations. And their first-quarter results were exceptional.
Even the most optimistic analysts were surprised and for once the numbers were solid. Overall, the industry beat street estimates by a startling 10% and at the same time increased its crucial Tier 1 capital ratio to 12.1%. No wonder banking executives are upbeat about their prospects.

Investors are more likely to know 3M as the maker of Post-It Notes, Scotch Tape, handheld video projectors, and scores of other familiar products. Yet 3M shares are no slouch.
